We receive a number of questions each month from our members and folks who happen to visit our website. We've included the most common here to hopefully answer most of the questions you have. If we don't answer your question here, feel free to e-mail any of the Board Members listed on our
Home Page.
Where is Connect the Tots located?
Connect the Tots was started in Reading, MA as an informal get-together for new moms. Since then, Connect the Tots has grown to over 100 members in communities like Stoneham, Wilmington, Woburn, Billerica, North Reading, Wakefield, and Lynnfield. We welcome anyone as a member, but geographic restrictions might reduce
your playgroup size.
When are playgroups held and how are new members added to playgroups?
We have built a list of a number of playgroups, attempting to group the children by age. Playgroups are held at locations set by the playgroup members. Most playgroups establish a set day and time to meet and then establish a hosting schedule so it is held at a different member's house each week. When new members join Connect the Tots, we ask for your
child's age to try to place you in an age appropriate playgroup. We then put you in contact with the members of the group so you can join them at their next playgroup.
What does Connect the Tots cost?
Connect the Tots charges a $25 fee for annual dues. This is to cover the cost of our monthly newsletter, speakers and presenters at many of our outings and supplies for our "kid's days" (i.e. - Halloween Party, Mother's Day Craft Day, Valentine's Craft day, etc.). The Connect the Tots dues calendar runs in synch with the school year so dues are
due each September.
How do I submit something for the newsletter or make a suggestion for the website?
Connect the Tots publishes a monthly newsletter (July and August are combined into a single "Summer" issue). Currently, all submission are due by the 15th of the month to make the following month's newsletter (i.e. - if you wanted something in the October newsletter, you would have to submit it by September 15th). We are always looking for
newsletter submissions (craft ideas, book recommendations, recipes, family outing ideas, local events not everyone knows about, etc.)
