Another great film from Pixar and Disney. The
beginning was a little disheartening as Nemo's mother
(and several hundred yet to be hatched brothers and
sisters) are swallowed up by a barracuda. While it is
not shown on the screen, there is plenty of
insinuation, much along the lines of "The Lion King."
That being said, the movie moves on quickly with humor
that will reach kids of all ages. The movie really
starts to roll when Marlin (Nemo's father),
overprotective to the utmost degree, takes Nemo to
school for the first day.
Tired of his father's overprotective nature, Nemo
ventures out beyond the reef and it captured by a
diver. The diver turns out to be a dentist and Nemo
ends up in the office tank.
For the balance of the film, we have Marlin
searching the ocean for Nemo and Nemo trying to get
out of the tank back into the ocean. Each is faced
with their own challenges and meet a multitude of
great characters in the process.
While "Finding Nemo" is not quite as good as the
two "Toy Story" films, it is at least equal to
"Monsters Inc." but far better than "A Bug's Life."
